What is the Eleos Nursing Academy?

The Eleos Nursing Academy is a 140-hour Nurse Aide course approved through the Virginia Board of Nursing.

How much is tuition?

The tuition cost is $250 per student.  Tuition includes classroom and clinical training, textbooks, insurance coverage, scrubs, nursing supplies, and the NNAAP examination fee.

Why was this program started?

The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) designation is the gold standard for entry into the professional caregiver industry.  Unfortunately, the quality, duration, and affordability of training varies tremendously throughout the country.

Depending on which state you reside in, a person seeking to become a professional caregiver can spend upwards of $1,000 or more for a Nurse Aide course.  Sadly, this often places the education out of reach for those with limited financial resources; even if they have the right heart posture for the caregiving profession.

As baby boomers require more care in the coming years, our nation will struggle to prepare enough qualified caregivers to meet the rising demand.  In light of this impending crisis, we believe industry leaders and local community organizations must invest in innovative training solutions to ensure the right type of caregivers are equipped for the necessary work.

In this spirit, the Eleos Nursing Academy was born.

Where is the program hosted?

Students receive their 100 hours of classroom training at Trinity Presbyterian Church and their 40 hours of clinical training at The Laurels of Charlottesville.

Are scholarships available?

Yes!  Full and partial scholarships are available for qualified candidates.

How is the program designed?

The program is made possible through in-kind contributions from volunteers at Commonwealth Care Group and Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Commonwealth Care Group underwrites the insurance costs to protect students during their clinical training, and provides administrative assistance and industry insights to students. Trinity Presbyterian Church provides classroom space and a remarkable group of gifted and selfless volunteers who commit to serving as instructors and mentors throughout the duration of the course.
